George Turkey Vulture

George, a male Turkey Vulture, was found in 1985 wandering around after both of his parents had been killed. He was only about 2 months old at the time he was found, and it was necessary to hand raise him. That resulted in his becoming imprinted on the humans who cared for him, making it impossible for him to be successfully released into the wild.

He has been participating in educational shows ever since, becoming quie the personality as he shows off his 5 to 6-foot wingspan while on his perch.

George is proof that bald is beautiful!
